Instructions for Stripping Wires Select proper wire gauge and strip length for application. Open handles, place wire in proper stripping hole with the desired strip length, squeeze handles, and pull insulation off of end of wire. Instructions for Cutting Wires Select proper wire gauge, open handles, place on cutting blade and squeeze handles until wire is cut. Instructions for Cutting Screws and Bolts Select proper bolt or screw, open handles, thread into proper hole to desired cut length add for tool thickness , and squeeze handles to snap bolt or screw. Instructions for Crimping Select appropriate Molex terminal and verify that wire gauge and strip length are within specifications. Strip wire to specified length. Place terminal on open jaws of tool in correct die. Squeeze tool slightly to hold terminal or connector. Place stripped wire into terminal, making sure it sits parallel inside terminal and wire brush is fully inserted. Hold wire steady in place with one hand, ensuring wire remains seated in terminal until fully crimped. Gently squeeze tool until fully crimped. Cautions Manual hand tools are intended for low-volume field repairs and should only be used for the terminals and wire gauges specified. Tool is NOT intended for high-volume production, and constant, repetitive use can cause hand injury. Do not work on live circuits - tool handles are not insulated and do not protect against electrical shock. Restrictions Termination crimp quality is dependent on the conductor profile choice and skill of the operator. Customers should independently verify that intended termination meets quality and performance needs. Not all terminal, wire and profile combinations will provide minimum pull force requirements, or provide an acceptable crimp form. Molex makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the performance or reliability of the crimp, or the appropriateness of the tool application. Molex does not certify or repair hand tools. Visit and download the Molex Quality Crimping Handbook for additional information on crimping and pull force testing. Made in Taiwan |
