Typical applications are PFC pre-regulators for SMPS and electronic ballasts for fluorescent, HID or LED lighting. The IRS2500 is pin compatible with most industry standard critical conduction mode PFC control ICs, with additional improvements to increase performance. The IRS2500 based converter provides high PF, low THD and stable DC bus regulation over a wide line/load range. Protection features include cycle by cycle over-current protection and output over voltage protection.
