3 General Purpose Polyester Tape 8952 Technical Data October, 2009 Product Description 3M General Purpose Polyester Tape 8952 is made with a 2 mil polyester backing and a silicone adhesive. It is designed for high temperature applications such as a flashbreaker tape in composite bonding in addition to splicing silicone and nonsilicone coated papers and films. Clean-up is complete upon tape removal. • Composite and Metal bonding this tape removes cleanly from stainless steel, anodized aluminum and glass after a four-hour bake cycle at 350°F 177°C . • Holding parts or vacuum bags during bonding process. • Splicing silicone treated materials, including paper, liners and films. • One hour photo lab splicing tape. • Circuit board masking. • Masking parts in an anodizing process. Storage Store under normal conditions of 60° to 80°F 16° to 27°C and 40 to 50% R.H. in the original carton. Shelf Life To obtain best performance, use this product within 18 months from date of manufacture.
